Madikeri: A case been registered at the Shanivarasanthe police station in Somwarpet taluk against five BJP workers on the charge of submitting Form 7 applications with false claims, seeking the deletion of names from the electoral roll.

One Safwan had made a complaint against Byadagotta booth president U H Lokesh and others. According to the complaint, Safwan and 19 members of his family have been residing and voting at the Byadagotta polling booth for several years. Despite the complainants' details being available, the accused allegedly attempted to have their names removed from the electoral roll by falsely claiming that they were not residing in the area and were ineligible to remain on the voters' list.
