The family of murdered Emfuleni municipal finance clerk Martha Rantsofu believes the pieces of the puzzle behind her assassination are beginning to fall into place.
Rantsofu's family was at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates Court on Thursday, where one of the fraud cases she exposed returned to court.

Rantsofu uncovered that 25-year-old Janitha van Reenen allegedly defrauded the municipality of more than R400,000 by submitting claims but failing to pay the intended beneficiaries.
Martha's eldest brother, Tefo Rantsofu, said the family believes it is getting closer to understanding why his sister was murdered earlier in 2026.
While Van Reenen has not been charged in connection with Rantsofu's murder, investigators believe she may have information that could assist the murder investigation.
Her appearance in court follows confirmation that another fraud investigation, involving a fleet management contract worth more than R16 million, originated from a complaint Rantsofu lodged before she was killed.
Tefo said the family hopes the ongoing investigations will finally provide answers and bring them a measure of closure.
Van Reenen's fraud case has been postponed to 13 August for further investigation.
