COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division announced Tuesday that a Richland County woman was arrested and charged with multiple counts related to insurance fraud.
Tayler Nicole Hall, 27, was arrested on March 31 and was initially charged with two counts of presenting a false claim for insurance payment with a value between $2,001 and $9,999 and two counts of forgery with a value of less than $10,000.
She received an additional charge of presenting a false claim for insurance payment with a value between $2,001 and $9,999 on April 1.
According to arrest warrants, Hall filed several false insurance claims between July 2021 and February 2022.
- July 2021: Hall allegedly pretended to be a victim of a burglary to receive a $5,000 insurance payment.
- August 2021: She reportedly claimed her apartment and belongings were damaged in a water leak and received a $462.30 insurance payment. According to arrest warrants, a letter from her apartment complex was later discovered to be fake, and the pictures she submitted were stock photos from the La-Z-Boy Furniture website.
- September 2021: Hall allegedly submitted a claim that her apartment was broken into and multiple items were stolen. She got a $3,000 insurance payment. A police report that she submitted was later found to be fake.
