HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - State agents have announced the arrest of a business owner in Horry County.
On Tuesday, The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged Christopher John Angulo, 46, with presenting a false claim for insurance and two counts of obtaining a signature or property under false pretenses.
According to warrants between December of 2024 and December of 2025, Angulo knowingly helped and conspired in presenting at least 13 false claims for insurance payment to Allstate through Safelite Solutions.
Documents say he is the owner and operator of Safe Pro Auto Glass in the Myrtle Beach area.
He is accused of filing claims reporting automotive glass replacement for glass that was never replaced.
Those claims were a total amount was $16,028
He also allegedly did the same thing between January 2025 and December 2025 when he reportedly presented at least 18 false claims to Progressive Insurance for glass that was never replaced.
Those claims were $22,718.
The South Carolina Department of Insurance requested SLED investigate.
Angulo was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
