Slovak lawmakers voted to override a presidential veto on a government-proposed overhaul of whistleblower protections that sparked European Union concern.

Legislators in Bratislava voted 77-16, with one abstention, to back the legislation on Friday. President Peter Pellegrini now has to sign it into law.
