Slovak whistleblower barred from work despite court victory - SME.sk

Former ambulance service economist remains on payroll but sidelined after exposing controversial tender.

A Slovak whistleblower who successfully overturned her dismissal from the state ambulance service in Košice has still not been allowed to return to work, more than three months after a binding court ruling.

Mária Koránová, former chief economist of the Košice Rescue Service, has recently told reporters outside the service’s headquarters that her employer “simply refuses” to reinstate her. Instead, she continues to receive a full salary while staying at home.

“I am determined to see this through to the very end. I look forward to the day I can finally return to work,” Koránová said.
