What’s happening: Conspiracy-oriented social media accounts are claiming that pop star Justin Bieber said in a May 2026 Instagram post that rapper and accused sex trafficker Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs trafficked him to former President Barack Obama.
Bieber, of course, made no such claim.
Context: Combs was arrested in September 2024 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The indictment claimed that Combs used his status and resources to “fulfill his sexual desires” in a long-term pattern of abuse at parties known as “freak-offs.” In July 2025, he was acquitted of sex-trafficking and racketeering charges and convicted on prostitution-related counts. He is currently serving a 50-month sentence in a federal penitentiary in New Jersey.
Bieber has known Combs since he was 15 and Combs was 40 and once considered Combs a mentor, according to news reports. In 2023, the two collaborated on the R&B song “Moments.” Bieber has never been reported as having attended any of Combs’ notorious parties.
