SOFHA alleges false claims by "small group of physicians" - WCYB
News 5 received a two-page statement sent by a representative with SOFHA alleging "inaccuracies being circulated" and false claims by a "small group of physicians." The group of physicians identified within the statement are the 13 physicians set to leave Mountain Region Family Medicine at the end of September, but News 5 has remained in constant contact with attorneys that represent more than three dozen SOFHA physicians.
The statement reads that SOFHA has "remained silent out of respect" for their team members, physicians and patients. News 5 has been reached out to by current and former staff members and physicians who have voluntarily given up information, emails, etc. Two current employees who have spoken to News 5 off the record say they have since been told their jobs are under threat if they speak to members of the media.
News 5 has also received messages and phone calls from hundreds of patients seeking answers for their own healthcare.
One of those patients is Eli Bray who has been a SOFHA patient for two and a half years. Bray says he found out his doctor is Mountain Region Family Medicine through News 5's reporting.
