'Sound of Freedom' Studio Defends AMC Theatres Against Wild ... - Global Village space

AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron recently had to address a viral rumor that claimed theater workers were targeting audiences of the film “Sound of Freedom.” The film, which focuses on the story of Operation Underground Railroad founder Tim Ballard and has gained a following among right-wing fans, including QAnon believers, was subject to bizarre tweets suggesting that the air conditioning was deliberately turned off during screenings. Additionally, a satirical tweet claimed that AMC theaters were conspiring against QAnon members by supplying suspicious liquid at the concessions stand.

In response to these allegations, Aron took to Twitter to address the misinformation. He stated that the claims were false and that over 100,000 people had watched “Sound of Freedom” at AMC Theatres. He also mentioned that more than one million people had watched the film at AMC, making it the most-watched movie at any theater chain. Aron dismissed the conspiracy theories as “bizarre” and urged people to put them to rest.

Following Aron’s tweets, the distributor of “Sound of Freedom,” Angel Studios, issued a joint statement defending the AMC theater rollout.
