'Spent $2 million to win $60k': DJ Akademiks mocks Megan Thee Stallion's win in defamation case against Milagro Cooper - PopRant

Megan Thee Stallion has won her defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Cooper, also known as Milagro Gramz, after a Florida jury ruled that Cooper spread false claims and promoted a manipulated deepfake video targeting the rapper. The jury found Cooper liable for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and promoting a digitally altered sexual image (deepfake).

He wrote on X with several laughing emojis, "Spent $2 million on lawyer fees to win $60k. Might as well had take that 2 mil and bet it on stake you had a better chance of making some bread." In another tweet, he added, "Talmbout she spent $240k twice for two 5-week therapy."

While a lot of people joined in the joke, others say that despite the reduced compensation, the verdict is being seen as a significant step in holding creators accountable for spreading fake content, deepfakes and false accusations against public figures.
