The Ninth Circuit dismissed a former school district employee’s whistleblower retaliation case because his disclosures of wrongdoing weren’t explicit enough to be protected under federal law.
David Krzesni said his contract with the Wellpinit School District, located on the Spokane Indian Reservation in Washington, wasn’t renewed in 2023 because he reported the district improperly used federal funds for a school trip to Hawaii.
