A neonatal intensive care unit patient manager failed to prove Stanford’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital fired her in violation of California’s whistleblower protection law for reporting patient care issues.
Bethan Faulkner’s evidence consisted mainly of complaints she made to hospital supervisors about the way NICU physician Lisa Bain allegedly treated her, and weren’t directly related to patient safety, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said.
Faulkner, who supervised more than 150 nurses in her position as patient care manager, sued for wrongful discharge and violations of the whistleblower law after being fired by the Stanford Medicine ...
