BATH TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Michigan State Police raided the home of former House Speaker Lee Chatfield’s chief of staff Tuesday morning.
State police conducted the raid in conjunction with the Department of Attorney General as part of an ongoing investigation, according to police on scene.
The home in Bath Township, about 20 minutes outside of Lansing, linked back to Robert and Anne Minard, according to property records.

Robert worked as Chatfield’s chief of staff from 2019 to 2020. His wife, Anne, was also a House staffer when Chatfield was speaker.
Michigan State Police launched an investigation into Chatfield over sexual assault allegations. The Department of Attorney General joined the investigation in late January. The wife of Chatfield’s brother made the allegations, her attorney confirmed.
Rebekah Chatfield has claimed her brother-in-law sexually abused her from 2010 to 2021. She said the abuse started when she was 15 or 16 at Chatfield's father's Christian school and church in northern Michigan.
