The Sumar parliamentarian, Jon Hernández, has criticized that the new Basque Public Employment Law, promoted by the PNV to reinforce the legal guarantees of linguistic requirements in Public Employment Offers (OPE), will go ahead "without a minimum consensus."
In a press conference in the Basque Parliament, Hernández explained that the processing of the Basque Public Employment Law will foreseeably conclude this Thursday in the autonomous Chamber, with an approval that seeks to consolidate the legal framework of linguistic requirements to access a position in the Administration.
The Sumar deputy stressed that it is "a matter of country" and reproached the "shelving" of the 17 amendments registered by his group to the text of the employment law.
Likewise, he regretted that the norm will go ahead "quickly and without a minimum consensus among the other political forces." In this vein, he recalled that Sumar asked the Basque Parliament itself for a legal report on the procedure followed with this law, and denounced that PNV and PSE-EE have rejected that request on two occasions.
"It seems serious to us that even asking for a legal report on a law of this importance is rejected. We are talking about public employment, labor rights, public services and legal certainty," he said.
