SuperValu Inc. convinced a federal jury that it didn’t violate the False Claims Act by improperly billing Medicare and Medicaid for prescription drugs.
Two whistleblowers failed to show that SuperValu’s conduct caused the US government or Illinois to suffer damages, according to the jury verdict placed on the federal district court’s docket March 5.
Judge Sue E. Myerscough of the US District Court for the Central District of Illinois presided over the trial, which began Feb. 11.
