Supply-Chain Technology Company Hit With Gender Discrimination ... - Law.com

Supply-chain technology providers Zebra Technologies was hit with an employment discrimination suit by a senior account manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated and subjected to disparate treatment based on gender.

This complaint was first surfaced by Law.com Radar.

The July 19 complaint was filed in the Tennessee Middle District Court by the Blackburn Firm on behalf of James Sulcer, who alleges that he was removed from several million-dollar accounts and replaced with a female colleague who had less experience.

According to the complaint, Sulcer, a male over the age of 61, was a senior account manager of sales in Zebra’s Healthcare Division since 2015 and until May 9, 2023.

Due to his age and gender, Sulcer alleged that he is a member of protected classes, and brings claims pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967.

The complaint alleged that, in 2021, Sulcer secured a $20 million deal with HCA on behalf of Zebra Technologies. The sale was for scanners that would be used by medical personnel in HCA Healthcare hospitals.
