Susquehanna Township School District disputes false football suspension claim on Facebook - fox43.com

The district said that a post in the "Susquehanna Township Neighbors" group claimed players were suspended for being late because of district transportation delays.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Susquehanna Township School District addressed a false claim regarding the high school football team circulating in a Facebook page.

District Superintendent Dr. Tamara Willis said that a post in the "Susquehanna Township Neighbors" Facebook group claimed that members of the Susquehanna Township High School football team were suspended for being late because of district transportation delays.

The Susquehanna Township School District has been facing transportation issues throughout the first month of its 2025-26 school year, even having to close Sara Lindemuth/Anna Carter Primary School and Thomas Holtzman Elementary School on the first day of the year. The district even said earlier this month that it is considering a program that would pay families who can drive their kids to and from school every day for the 2025-26 school year.

Willis denied the claim made in the post, saying no one from the football team was suspended because of reasons related to transportation. She added that the person who posted the claim is not a parent in the district and refused to identify a student when contacted or provide any details.
