Swalwell campaign denies ‘outrageous’ claims of misconduct - FOX40

(Inside California Politics) — U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell’s campaign is forcefully pushing back on allegations of inappropriate behavior with female staffers as social media speculation continues to spread.

A spokesperson for Swalwell’s campaign for governor of California called the allegations a “false, outrageous rumor” spread shortly before the primary election.

The statement comes as a growing number of Democratic-leaning social media influencers have posted statements and videos alluding to alleged misconduct by the East Bay Democrat. However, none of the insinuations have been explicitly stated and no news outlets, including Inside California Politics, have verified any allegations.

The spokesperson, campaign communications director Micah Beasley, said that in Swalwell’s 13 years in Congress, no one in the representative’s office has ever been asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and no member of his staff has ever lodged an ethics complaint.

“As a prosecutor, Eric Swalwell spent his career fighting for women,” Beasley said in an emailed statement. “As a representative, he has demanded accountability for convicted abusers like Donald Trump and has pushed for the full release of House Ethics Committee records related to any allegation of misconduct against any member of Congress. And as governor, Eric Swalwell will continue to fight for the rights of all women.”
