Tamra Schweiberger Selected as New EEOC Tampa Field Office ... - EEOC

MIAMI - The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today that Tamra Schweiberger has been selected as director of its Tampa Field Office, effective April 24.

As director of the Tampa Field Office, Schweiberger will manage and oversee the EEOC’s work enforcing federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination in 23 central and western Florida counties. The Tampa Field Office is part of the EEOC’s Miami District, which has jurisdiction over the majority of Florida, apart from the western portion of the Panhandle, along with the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Prior to joining the EEOC, Schweiberger served as a manager of equal employment opportunity (EEO) services for the United States Postal Service Headquarters, where she promoted equal opportunity in the workplace and enforced federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination. As a manager in the National Equal Employment Investigative Services Office (NEEOISO), Schweiberger was responsible for managing the external EEO business unit, EEO analysts and contractors, and inter-agency relations. During her tenure at the U.S. Postal Service, Schweiberger also served as an EEO services analyst and EEO/ADR specialist.

Schweiberger began her career with the United States Postal Service in 2003 and has worked in civil rights enforcement since 2011. She is a graduate of Tampa College and holds a B.A. in business administration.
