Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents searched the Robertson County home of a former Metro Nashville Police officer who accused his department of misconduct and was later linked by court records to the Covenant shooting documents leak.
TBI spokesman Josh DeVine confirmed by email Wednesday that agents searched a home in the 9200 block of Shady Park Road in Portland on Sept. 17 "in connection to an ongoing investigation." Former Lt. Garet Davidson lives at a home in that block, according to state and county property records.
TBI spokeswoman Susan Niland on Thursday confirmed Davidson's address as the home that was searched.
Davidson has not been charged with any crimes related to the leak of the Covenant documents. Efforts to reach Davidson were not immediately successful.
The former officer first came into the media spotlight in May when he filed a 61-page report detailing an alleged culture of mismanagement, failure to investigate misconduct and an overall lack of transparency. He also accused top brass of colluding with state legislators to gut the community oversight board's power.
Mayor Freddie O'Connell said the city would conduct an independent investigation led by former U.S. Attorney Edward L. Stanon III.
