TGPSC Notice to BRS Leader Rakesh Reddy Over Group-1 Results False Claims - Deccan Chronicle
Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has issued a defamation notice to BRS party leader Enugula Rakesh Reddy for making false, misleading, and unverified allegations against the commission regarding the Group-1 examination results. The commission took cognizance of a news report titled 'Group-1 should be revaluated' published in a vernacular newspaper.
The notice stated that Rakesh made these defamatory statements during a press conference at the Somajiguda Press Club. TGPSC has demanded that he issue a public retraction of his defamatory statements within 7 days from the receipt of the notice and tender an unconditional written apology to be published in leading newspapers with equal prominence as the original defamatory statements. The commission has also cautioned him to cease and desist from making any further defamatory statements against it in the future.
If he fails to comply with these demands, the TGPSC has warned that it will be constrained to initiate civil and criminal defamation proceedings against him before the appropriate forum in accordance with the law.
