‘SAVE America’ Act Won’t Save Trump.

The deadline for Member States to transpose the EU Pay Transparency Directive (PTD) into their domestic legal systems expires on 7 June 2026. However, it seems that Slovakia and Italy (and partially Poland) will be the only countries to have transposed the Directive prior to the formal expiry of the deadline, creating a situation of legal uncertainty for companies and employees in the remaining Member States.
The PTD is a major milestone for most European countries, introducing significant obligations related to pay transparency and the fight against gender pay gaps across the EU, such as: (i) the obligation to ensure equal pay for work of equal value; (ii) transparency obligations about pay ranges in employment offers and the prohibition on asking applicants about their pay history; (iii) transparency of pay setting and pay progression; (iv) information rights for employees and workers’ representatives about individual and average pay levels; (v) gender pay gap reporting obligations, with relevant involvement of workers’ representatives, including joint pay assessments; and, last but not least, (vi) the obligation for...
