A denunciation published in VOX News has raised questions about the reinstatement of a previously dismissed director in the Municipality of Vlora, following Rama's decision to reform the local administration.
The dismissals of directors in the Municipality of Vlora, which were presented as measures to increase efficiency and accountability in the administration, may have been only formal, as some of them are returning to management positions.
The case of Sokol Kananaj, the new appointment in the Vlora Tax Office
The denunciation published by VOX News was related to Sokol Kananaj , who had resigned after the wave of departures in 2025.
According to the document below, he was appointed director of the Taxpayer Service Directorate at the Regional Tax Directorate in Vlora.
Kananaj appeared as the only candidate in the competition, which has raised doubts about the transparency of the selection process.
Kananaj was previously dismissed from his post after allegedly unblocking an account for an entity that had tax obligations to the Municipality of Vlora. The complaint alleged that the case is also at the Prosecutor's Office.
