Owners of a Blackburn takeaway say they were subjected to racist abuse and calls for a boycott after being wrongly accused of fly-tipping.
Nabzys, on New Chappel Street in Mill Hill, was accused of dumping mayo tubs in a nearby park.
The information was posted on social media, prompting vile racist abuse and also people calling for a boycott of the premises.
However, the takeaway shared CCTV which showed the rubbish had actually been dumped by someone else.
Further CCTV footage shows a woman walking across the road and picking up red tubs of mayonnaise from the park and placing them in front of the takeaway.
She then took photographs of the tubs, which later appeared on social media.
Nabzys responded by sharing CCTV footage and invoices which showed they bought blue tubs of mayo.
Nabeel from Nabzys said: “We were really disheartened to see this.
“These were not our tubs and we are disappointed that people were accusing us of this.
If it was not for the CCTV, we would have no way of telling people that this had nothing to do with us.
“People should be careful before posting and sharing footage without checking first.”
