Carlos A. Ortiz has joined Thompson Coburn as a partner in the employment and immigration practices in Chicago, the firm said Thursday.

Ortiz works on consumer and class action financial services litigation and counsels clients in the labor and employment, immigration and mobility sectors, according to Thompson Coburn.

He particularly has experience handling harassment and discrimination claims, matters related to the Fair Labor Standards Act and Americans with Disabilities Act, and wrongful discharge cases, Thompson Coburn said.

Ortiz served as a shareholder at Polsinelli PC and a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson, according to the firm.
