The House Oversight Committee will hold a hearing on the handling of the investigation of Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, and will hear from two IRS whistleblowers who allege misconduct in the Justice Department inquiry.

The hearing is expected to produce testimony alleging misconduct in the DOJ investigation of the younger Biden, who agreed to a plea deal last month that several Republicans criticized as a "sweetheart deal." Here are three things to expect from the hearing and its aftermath.

Whistleblower X's identity is revealed

Gary Shapley, one of the IRS whistleblowers, has made the rounds detailing his allegations about the Hunter Biden investigation for more than a month, but a second whistleblower, using the alias "Whistleblower X," will be identified for the first time on Wednesday.

Whistleblower X is an IRS agent who testified, alongside Shapley, to the House Ways and Means Committee in May.

Republicans will praise the whistleblowers, and Democrats will critique them

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is expected to commend the whistleblowers as "brave and credible" and discuss how their testimony about intelligence agencies, including the DOJ, FBI, and IRS, "confirms" the committee's findings of misconduct in the investigations into Hunter Biden.
