Australian musician Tones and I was left in tears on Tuesday night, after fans discovered which Port Macquarie hotel she was staying at and started a huge social media campaign to get her to play live.
The 26-year-old was staying at the Sails Port Macquarie by Rydges when the campaign started on Facebook, with multiple fans encouraging others to bombard her with Instagram requests to perform at the hotel.
A well-placed source told Daily Mail Australia that after the social media campaign blew up, the piling pressure on the Dance Monkey singer, 28, to perform caused her to burst into tears and retreat to her room.
Many fans rocked up to the hotel at 7:30pm and were left disappointed when they couldn't see her sing, perhaps after the songstress played multiple impromptu busking gigs across the country over the past few weeks.
On Tuesday evening, the singer - whose real name is Toni Watson - took to Instagram to reveal she wouldn't be performing live, writing: 'I'm not playing tonight. Equipment issues sorry.'
The post has since been deleted.
