Star Nursing Inc. and healthcare workers it sends on short-term travel assignments in California won final approval for a $700,000 settlement resolving their wage-and-hour dispute.
The 418 class members—none of whom objected to the settlement or asked to be excluded from it—will receive more than $1,000 on average, and the 47 workers who also chose to join the Fair Labor Standards Act collective will receive an average of nearly $500 more, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said, granting the deal final approval.
