Trial of Eleanor Williams due to begin at Preston Crown Court - The Mail

THE trial of a woman accused of making false claims of trafficking and sexual assault is due to begin next week.

Eleanor Williams is facing eight charges of perverting the course of justice in relation to claims made to police.

The 21-year-old, whose address has been given as Teasdale Road on Walney, is due to stand trial at Preston Crown Court on Monday.

The process is expected to last up to ten weeks.

The charges relate to five men, including a man from Barrow who was said to have been accused of rape and sexual assault on three separate occasions.

Another man was also said to have been accused of rape and three men were accused of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

She is alleged to have made false claims to police between October 20 2017 and May 22 2020.

Between October 20 2017 and January 28 2017 she is accused of a 'series of acts' that had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice, relating to false allegations of rape and sexual assault.

Between March 71 2019 and October 21 2019 she is further accused of perverting the course of justice by making false claims of rape.

She is also alleged to have perverted the course of justice by making a false claim between May 18 2019 and October 21 2019.

Between June 17 2019 and July 20 2019, she is said to have perverted the course of justice by making false claims of human trafficking against a man and also between June 17 2019 and Juy 21 2019.
