THE trial of a woman accused of making false allegations of sexual assault has been adjourned.
Eleanor Williams has been charged with eight counts of perverting the course of justice.
A trial started at Preston Crown Court on Monday.
But, following legal discussions on Tuesday, it has now been adjourned.
A future date for the trial to resume is yet to be set.
The 21-year-old, of Teasdale Road on Walney, is said to have made the false claims to police between between October 20 2017 and May 22 2020.
She has denied all wrongdoing in relation to the charges.
The defendant has already been forced to wait more than 18 months to face trial since she was first arrested over the alleged offences.
