Truckers who say Oklahoma-based D&M Carriers LLC underpaid their wages failed to convince a federal judge that California employment laws extend to their sporadic work in the state.
The truckers didn’t spend a majority of their time—or even of their final pay periods—working predominantly in California, and their only connection to the state was occasional work travel for hours at a time, so California wage laws don’t apply to their minimal work in the state, the US District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma said Thursday.
