US President Donald Trump on Sunday fled the scene after the journalist interviewing him pressed him about his false claims regarding elections.
When NBC News’ Kristen Welker pushed back against his false claims about the 2020 election and elections in California, Trump called her “crooked” and “stupid” and fled the scene mid-interview. He said merely looking at the elections was enough to prove that they were stolen.
Trump said last week’s California elections were “rigged” and that Democrats had been “cheating” in them. When Welker stressed that he and his supporters had never furnished evidence to back their claims, he said “all I have to do is look”, and called Democrats “crooked”. He then launched into a tirade against Welker.
“They’re crooked just like you’re crooked, your press is crooked. And ‘Meet the Press’ is crooked. You’re either crooked or you’re stupid because you have no credibility… Your elections are crooked and you’re crooked, and Meet the Press is crooked. And so is ABC and CBS and CNN. You’re a one-sided crooked network. Sorry. Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough. Thank you, darling,” said Trump.
