Trump Jr. fiancée, ex-Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle, gets Jan 6 subpoena - USA TODAY

Kimberly Guilfoyle, the fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., who provided fundraising assistance for the Jan. 6 rally, was subpoenaed to testify and provide documents to the special House committee investigating the Capitol attack.

Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said Guilfoyle also was at the White House on the morning of Jan. 6, when President Donald Trump spoke by telephone with Vice President Mike Pence whom the president was pressuring to block the certification of the 2020 election results.

“Ms. Guilfoyle met with Donald Trump inside the White House, spoke at the rally that took place before the riot on January 6th, and apparently played a key role organizing and raising funds for that event," Thompson said. "Because Ms. Guilfoyle backed out of her original commitment to provide a voluntary interview, we are issuing today's subpoena that will compel her to testify. We expect her to comply with the law and cooperate.”

The action comes a day after the panel disclosed in a separate legal filing that it had evidence indicating that the former president and others "engaged in a criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States."
