Indiana Gov. Mike Braun recently signed a bill into law that will allow the state to charge tolls on any or all of its interstates. The state would need to seek a waiver from the Federal Highway Administration to implement the tolls, but after that no other legislative approval would be needed. The money would go toward road maintenance, repairs and long-term infrastructure needs as fuel tax revenues continue to decline.
