Trump repeats false 2020 election fraud claims - AOL.com

President Donald Trump has again repeated his long-debunked claim that the 2020 presidential election was "rigged," this time while discussing trade policy at the White House and promising that new evidence will soon be made public.

Trump shifted to his claims about the 2020 election in the midst of a discussion with reporters about trade agreements, including the USMCA — the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which is up for renegotiation. He argued that the agreement's 2026 renewal date was set under the assumption that he would never return to office.

"So now they made it so I wouldn't be president and because they rigged the election, the second election — as you probably hear and probably know, most of you know that happened and now it has been proven," Trump falsely claimed. "It will be proven as time goes by, more so. We have things you won't believe. When we release the full files, you won't believe how crooked the 2020 election was."

Trump provided no timeline for releasing the files and offered no names or supporting evidence.

A claim with no legal footing

Claims that the 2020 election was stolen have been extensively investigated and litigated. Courts reviewed allegations of illegal voting and found them to be invalid.
