KARIMNAGAR: TS Planning Board Vice Chairman B Vinod Kumar has flayed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for politicising the privatisation of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited and misleading the people of the Telangana state in general and the coal miners in particular with false claims.

In a statement here on November 12, 2022, Mr Vinod Kumar said that during the parliament session on December 13, 2021, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi had clearly stated that they were conducting the open auction of the coal blocks in the Telangana state. The Union Minister also stated in the parliament that they were opposing the decision of the SCCL to allocate the coal blocks to the Singareni.

Mr Vinod Kumar wanted to know whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi was correct or Union Minister Joshi on the privatisation of the coal blocks in the Telangana state. He alleged that the Prime Minister was only planning to political the issue for selfish gains and not for the wellbeing of the coal miners of the Telangana state.

He also reminded that the coal miners and coal miners’ officers association affiliated with the trade unions have observed strikes opposing the privatisation of four coal blocks of the Singareni in December 2021. He also expressed his ire against the Union government for its false propaganda against the Telangana State government on the privatisation of the coal blocks.
