Tuscaloosa Police said in a statement Saturday evening that officers responded to a report of gunshots from a group just before 9 p.m.
Nearby stationed officers responded immediately and found no evidence of shots fired after a thorough check and confirmed no injuries.
TPD Chief Blankley shut down The Strip at 9:00 p.m., requiring anyone not inside a business or actively leaving the area to clear The Strip.
The University of Alabama's SpotShotter system, designed to detect gunfire in an area, did not register gunfire during the time of the incident.
The TPD said no other major issues were reported, and the area has remained safe and orderly.
