Twitter insiders are reluctantly admitting that there's truth to some of the revelations this week from whistleblower Peiter Zatko.
"Historically, Twitter doesn't really lie, but like all companies, yes, they have skeletons," one employee told Insider.
Zatko, who goes by "Mudge" and was Twitter's chief information security officer until early this year, filed a whistleblower report alleging a series of lapses and wrongdoing. The disclosure was made public Wednesday and reported by The Washington Post. His claims play into the legal hands of Elon Musk, who is trying to prove Twitter committed fraud with its accounting of monetizable users so he can back out of his $44 billion acquisition of the company.
Three Twitter employees told Insider that Mudge has public credibility and that they see some truthful parts in his claims. These people asked not to be identified discussing sensitive topics.
