Ty Gibbs Challenges ‘False’ Allegations of Chris Gabehart’s NASCAR Lawsuit - PFSN

Ty Gibbs finally has his first NASCAR Cup Series win. And he made sure to use the moment for more than just celebrating.

After 131 starts, Gibbs took the checkered flag at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday, holding off Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson in a dramatic overtime finish.

It was a long time coming. But the victory celebration came with a side of candor, as Gibbs took direct aim at claims made by former Joe Gibbs Racing competition director Chris Gabehart.

Gabehart, now Chief Motorsports Officer at Spire Motorsports, left JGR under messy circumstances. His departure involved legal action from the team over alleged contract violations and confidential information disputes.

As part of those court filings, Gabehart claimed that Gibbs received “differential treatment” and was not held to “the same meeting attendance standards” as other team members.

Gibbs wasn’t having any of it.

“Obviously people are going to say false things about how I wasn’t present in meetings,” Gibbs said after the race. “I’ve been the same the whole time, just to clarify that.”
