[OSEN=Kang Seo-jung reporter] A university classmate of mukbang creator Tzuyang, accused of reporting false claims to a YouTuber that Tzuyang vomited after eating, received a summary order of a fine.
According to legal circles on the 30th, Judge Kim Jae-hak of the Seoul Central District Court’s Criminal Division 11 Single Judge issued a summary order on the 6th imposing a fine of 7 million Korean won on Mr. Oh, who was charged under the Information and Communications Network Act for defamation.
Mr. Oh is accused of reporting false information to YouTuber Jujak Gambyeolsa in November 2020, claiming, “I witnessed traces of vomiting by Tzuyang on the day she filmed a mukbang of a large pasta dish.”
Jujak Gambyeolsa disclosed this content during a YouTube broadcast in July 2024.
Tzuyang’s agency filed a complaint against Mr. Oh with the Hyehwa Police Station. The prosecution received the case in December 2024, conducted supplementary investigations, and summarily indicted Mr. Oh last month.
Meanwhile, Jujak Gambyeolsa was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for three years, after being found guilty of threatening Tzuyang to extort tens of millions of Korean won by revealing her private life. /[email protected].
