Uber is cutting approximately 3,300 jobs, or about 10% of its global workforce, as part of a major restructuring announced on September 2, 2026.
In a message to employees, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said the company is removing layers, simplifying team structures, refining its global location strategy and focusing people and investments on its biggest opportunities.
Uber has not publicly disclosed how many Canadian employees, if any, are affected by the September 2026 job cuts. However, non-unionized employees in Canada who lose their jobs as part of a restructuring may be entitled to severance pay.
In our experience, most terminated employees are owed more than they were initially offered.
