UFO whistleblowers have long felt threatened: Ex-security analyst - NewsNation

(NewsNation) — UFO whistleblowers have long expressed fears their lives could be in danger if they divulge sensitive information, and that raises concerns about the recent disappearance of a retired Air Force officer with considerable knowledge on the topic, a former national security analyst says.

Retired Maj. Gen. William Neil McCasland went missing Feb. 27 after leaving his Albuquerque, N.M., home to go hiking, authorities have said. Observers say McCasland’s career included overseeing classified government programs that include “unidentified anomalous phenomena” and possible nonhuman intelligence.

“His stature and the level of the secrets that he had access to, prior to his separation from government, make this extremely concerning,” Marik Von Rennenkampff, a contributor to The Hill, told “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” on Wednesday.

Von Rennenkampff, who worked in the State Department during the Obama administration, agreed with Vargas that insiders who have weighed disclosing information about UAPs have said they felt pressured to keep quiet or face potential harm.

McCasland was said to be sympathetic to the idea of bringing the public up to speed on UFOs, according to investigative journalist Ross Coulthart.

Said Von Rennenkampff: “None other than Secretary of State Marco Rubio has explicitly — explicitly — said that UAP whistleblowers fear for their lives, literally fear death, if they speak out.”
