Russian propagandists spread false claims about an alleged crossing of the Dnipro River and the capture of the Ostriv neighborhood in Kherson

The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) and the Ukrainian Navy reported the information.

The 34th Marine Coastal Defense Brigade quickly refuted the information, publishing a video showing Ukrainian soldiers on the territory that Russia called “captured.”

The unit emphasized that Russian forces cannot cross the river or establish a foothold on Kherson’s right bank, which remains under the control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

This is not the first attempt by Russian propaganda to fabricate “advances” in the Kherson direction — similar disinformation had circulated earlier.

• On October 21, Russian forces claimed a breakthrough on Kherson’s right bank, but Ukrainian Defense Forces denied it, saying Russia only “secured” the Dnipro riverbed.
