A group of Ukrainians is suing to get back a total of $80 million in work permit fees they say were improperly charged after being paroled into the US last year, their attorneys announced.
The latest suit, filed Tuesday in the US Court of Federal Claims, stems from a prior class action against a US Citizenship and Immigration Services policy that Ukrainians allowed into the US under a Biden administration initiative apply separately for work permits. A recent law makes them automatically authorized for employment, the class action alleged.
