Since 2010, when Dodd Frank added Section 21F to the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 the SEC has enhanced its whistleblower program to encourage whistleblowers to report information to the SEC for investigation and the SEC has been protecting whistleblowers from retaliation.
Troutman Pepper Locke Partners Jay Dubow, Sheri Adler, and Mary Weeks will discuss the SEC’s Whistleblower program and how it works. Attendees will learn about the protections in place for whistleblowers and enforcement actions that the SEC has brought to discipline parties who impede whistleblowers. The program also will discuss best practices in drafting severance and employment agreements that protect employers while also safeguarding employees’ rights and not running afoul of SEC rules.
