UnitedHealth Unit Loses Appeal of $38 Million Post-Deal Dispute - Bloomberg Law

A UnitedHealth Group Inc. subsidiary lost its bid to overturn a $38 million judgment stemming from its $750 million acquisition of an independent insurer, when Delaware’s top court upheld a decision in favor of the insurer’s former investors.

The state’s justices affirmed a ruling for Delaware’s Chancery Court by Vice Chancellor Paul A. Fioravanti Jr., who denied a request by UnitedHealth unit Golden Rule Financial Corp. to keep using erroneous accounting practices that both sides had relied on in reaching the deal for USHealth Group Inc.
