The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has dismissed what it described as false claims being circulated by Iranian state media and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

In a statement posted on its official X account on Thursday, CENTCOM accused Iranian state media of amplifying misinformation on three key issues, including the security of the Strait of Hormuz, alleged destruction of U.S. stealth fighter jets, and reports that an oil tanker had breached a U.S. naval blockade.

According to the U.S. military, the claims are inaccurate and intended to mislead the public about the ongoing military situation in the region.

Addressing the first claim, CENTCOM rejected the IRGC's assertion that commercial shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz had become unsafe because of U.S. activities.

Instead, the command blamed the IRGC itself for creating risks to civilian shipping.

"The IRGC (again) claims free and open routes through the Strait of Hormuz are dangerous for commercial vessels," CENTCOM said.

"The immediate dangers posed to commercial vessels and their civilian crews are the IRGC's verbal threats and attempted attacks."
