The US government is appealing the award of $1.1 million to a whistleblower in a False Claims Act case against defense contractor Kellogg, Brown & Root Services Inc. that resulted in a nearly $14 million settlement.
The government filed its notice Monday with the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas. The US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit will review the challenge.
