A former Veterans Affairs Department medical instrument technician failed to revive her disability-based and sexual harassment-based retaliation claims.
The department’s decision to issue a letter of reprimand to Cynthia Fuller after she called a co-worker a slang name for prostitute during a workplace dispute wasn’t adverse enough to violate Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said Wednesday. Fuller didn’t show she suffered any tangible job consequences as a result of the reprimand, the court said.
