Venable filed a lawsuit alleging trade libel Monday in California Central District Court on behalf of massage therapy device maker Therabody and its founder Dr. Jason Wersland. The suit targets Singapore-based Hydragun PTE Ltd. for allegedly posting videos on YouTube and other social media platforms that contain false claims about the plaintiffs’ Theragun device. The complaint also contends that the defendant uses Wersland’s image and likeness in Hydragun advertisements. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 2:22-cv-00676, Therabody, Inc., et al v. Hydragun PTE Ltd.
